Forward Form Submissions to Any URL via Webhooks

FormsList's webhook integration lets you forward form submissions to any HTTP endpoint in real time. Every time a form is submitted, FormsList sends a POST request with the submission data as a JSON payload to your webhook URL. This is the most flexible integration, enabling you to connect FormsList to any service, API, or custom backend. Webhooks are perfect for developers who want to process form data in their own systems: storing it in a custom database, triggering workflows, sending to a CRM, or connecting to services that FormsList doesn't have a native integration for. You can configure multiple webhook URLs per form, add custom headers for authentication, and set up retry logic for failed deliveries. FormsList logs all webhook attempts with status codes and response bodies for easy debugging.

How to set up Webhooks

1

Get your webhook endpoint URL

Identify the URL where you want to receive form data. This could be your API server, a serverless function, a service like Pipedream or RequestBin, or any HTTP endpoint.

2

Add the webhook in FormsList

In the FormsList dashboard, go to your form's Integrations tab. Select Webhooks and enter your endpoint URL. Optionally add custom headers for authentication.

3

Configure the payload format

Choose between JSON and form-urlencoded payload formats. Add any custom headers your endpoint requires (e.g., Authorization, API keys).

4

Test and monitor

Submit a test entry and check the webhook delivery log in FormsList. Verify your endpoint received the data correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What format does the webhook payload use?

By default, FormsList sends a JSON payload with Content-Type: application/json. The payload includes all form fields, submission metadata (timestamp, IP, user agent), and form identifiers. You can also choose application/x-www-form-urlencoded format.

Does FormsList retry failed webhook deliveries?

Yes. If your endpoint returns a non-2xx status code or the request times out, FormsList retries the delivery up to 3 times with exponential backoff. You can see the delivery status and retry history in the webhook logs.

Can I add authentication headers to my webhook?

Yes. You can add custom headers to your webhook configuration, including Authorization headers, API keys, or any other headers your endpoint requires for authentication.
